Meet Monique

Certified Project Management Professional

Monique M. O'Quinn is a Strategic Planning Project Manager for Unified Women’s Healthcare, where she devotes her skills and expertise to support ancillary growth through the department of mammography services. She has years of experience project management, account & product implementation, change management, health education and promotion, community engagement and strategic planning. 

 

 

Her accomplishments include: developing two large proposals to support research initiatives at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta totaling $47 million dollars in funding; establishing a memorandum of understanding for community based organizations to leverage medical and prevention HIV services in Fulton County; developing a Mobile PrEP Service Protocol; legislative advocacy for syringe service programs and tobacco free park policies in Fulton County; the execution of the first District 4 “Women’s Health Expo”; the establishment of a “Fulton Fresh Employee Market”; implementation of the “Stepping Up: Reducing Mental Illness in Jails” initiative, and a host of educational and outreach campaigns for the Affordable Care Act an Health Insurance Marketplace. While the short term impact of these activities are to improve the health and well being of the public, these efforts also helped to bridge the gap between community level needs and local healthcare resources.

 

Monique has also had the opportunity to travel and network with public health officials and stakeholders throughout Georgia and across the United States. She has participated in various conferences, workshops, peer exchanges and presentations to advance both policy and practice, and to provide technical assistance to grassroots organizations. In 2018, she conducted a workshop for county officials during the Georgia Public Health Association National Conference. In 2019, she presented a research poster for the annual U.S. Conference on AIDS in Washington, D.C.  Her professional aspirations are to bridge public health services, technology and project management professional knowledge to increase productivity in the workplace and achieve successful outcomes through small and large project endeavors.

 

Monique is passionate about public service, and is dedicated to advocating on behalf of under-served communities in her professional and personal endeavors. In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, online shopping, watching basketball, and spending time with family and friends. She attended Albany State University, where she received a B.S. in Biology, and Morehouse School of Medicine, where she received her Master of Public Health Degree in Health Education and Promotion. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute. She is an active member and musician in her church, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, Charles.
